I'll defer to Kobi to speak on the implementation specifics - but this was discussed on the coders list when the patch set was first submitted. I agree, though, that it should have been on the public list rather than the private list. That was my mistake. Also I feel like this came out of nowhere, and that it would have been a good topic for discussion on the src list. Particularly the odd -relay channel part of auditorium mode (in addition to the fact that it should be user settable).
