Dear DALnet services admins, I would like to report about bug in services, the bug in the noop feature, when you turn on the "noop" feature from nickserv it suppose to not allow anyone to give your nickname any access except "akick" by chanserv. The bug is that any channel sop/manager/founder can add you as anything after he added you in the akick list by chaning the access from akick to aop/sop/manager. by the following: 1) /chanserv akick #channel add nickname 2) /chanserv aop #channel add nickname even if the nickname's noop feature is on! As a part of today's services upgrade, we have changed the expiration routine for channels: When a channel expires - the channel's ops first get a chance to register it, if they don't register it within two weeks or if there are no channel ops, the channel is masskicked and closed for a few moments. After a few moments, the channel gets reopened and the first user who joins it will have 5 minutes to register it. If they don't register it within 5 minutes, they get kickbanned and another user can join and try to register it. If they try to play with the modes or kick ChanServ, the channel will be closed for a random time. Check out http://www.dal.net/kb/view.php?kb=199 for more information about how the process works. Suggestion regarding /NickServ lang

Hello everyone, Been realised there are a LOT's users do not know that DALnet has few different kind of languages that they can use it as the services reply/help. If anyone of you realised almost 65% percent of users dont understand what the services reply said especially regarding the nickname captcha. So if i can suggest a small notice from the Services ChanServ/NickServ/MemoServ to the users that they can set a language where they can understand more on every nickname/channel identify or thru a memo. At lease they know there's a different kind of language they can choose to understand better. Thanks :) regards, Eddy Kong

Hi all, The following changes were released today as part of our services update: 1) The default mlock has been changed to +nt-kS. 2) Users can see the successor line with ChanServ INFO if they are identified (or match the access list) to the successor's nick. 3) Users can now bypass the NoOp option on their own nick (they'll need to identify/match access list for that). 4) ChanServ SET UNSECURE command has been removed (it was broken for some time now and didn't do anything). 5) A few small bugs were fixed. add a channel mode to block part/quit message

hello everyone, i remember i'd seen something in UnrealIRCd long time ago, that permits to block part/quit message definitly for each channel, or with a delay. i wonder if it will be possible to add this to DALnet. maybe like a channel mode. it could help ops to fight against some spam/flood. and do be honnest, i actually need it :) Ark.

Channel managers and MemoServ ignores

Hi all, We have added two new features to services: 1) Channel managers - lets founders give almost full control over a channel. http://www.dal.net/kb/view.php?kb=196 for the full list. 2) MemoServ ignores - lets users ignore other users and nick!user@host masks (see /MemoServ HELP IGNORE). As a side effect, ChanServ ACC command's replies have been changed. The new replies are: -2 = Channel is frozen or closed -1 = User is autokicked from the channel. 0 = User has normal access. 10 = User has AOP access. 20 = User has SOP access. 30 = User has MANAGER access. 40 = User has founder access via a NickServ access list mask 50 = User has founder access via identification to NickServ 60 = User has founder access via identification to ChanServ News announcement is available at http://www.dal.net/news/shownews.php?id=68 FYI, -Kobi.

Bug in (ChanServ)

Hello Again, Today i am here to tell you people that there is a bug in -ChanServ- . I am the Sop on #Pakistan and today when i just add User in akick list. -ChanServ- allow him to join my channel because the User was'nt identified While joined the channel. After Joined the channel he identified his nick and chat like a simple user. ChanServ allow him on Channel. It does'nt matter User is identified or not Chanserv should akick him/her identified or without identified or atleast identified. So i just consider it as a bug and Discuss it with Kobi_S. Grr, Droid won't let me snip. Wrt multiple founders, I believe this would lead to a lot of fighting over settings, etc. Who has the power to add and remove founders? If more than one person then you'll have takeovers. If a single person, then you're back to the same scenario as having a founder and sops.
